Setting it in 2025 is a huge mistake, and they should have set it in the mid 2000's, and say that the original show was a few years time. Rushing the timeline to the present (don't want to confuse them normies!) just ruins the setting. Hank and Peggy would be like 90+, and are clearly meant to be boomer parents who were already like a decade out of date when the show aired in 1998.

The next worse thing is the rigging, where it's paper dolls moving around. It's very noticeable. We literally can't make anything good again, and tv shows and animations will never have the same budget as in the past.

The animation reminds me of Arthur when it switched to flash. Characters just stand there and occasionally throw their arms up. Movements are just characters bobbing up and down. Also, the writing sucks so far. I’ll still watch it just to see if I’m wrong about the latter

I think they care, it's just a matter of what studios will pay for and what animation techniques are available. Studios will say "why pay extra when you can just use this short cut?". And I suspect most of the budget will be eaten up by writers, staff, and voice actors, not the animation.

The sad fact is nothing has given as much steady profit as cable tv and after moving form that model it's much riskier and harder to do animation or tv shows with a budget. Ever wonder why new streaming shows have 5-10 eps per season instead of 22? That's why.

They have to cut corners, and there will be no return to the glory days of advertizement supported cable tv awash in money. It's a race to the bottom with corner cutting everywhere.

The future is shorter and shorter content produced with the least effort and money possible. Doing anything else is fighting against the tides. AI is just going to make it easier. Every single TV and studio will go out of business within the decade.
