Why didn't he just stop time, remove the gauntlet from Thanos' arm and then use magic to fling him into the nearest star or black hole?

When thanos got all the stones, he automatically got a 100% magic resistance. Even with just one stone, there's a 17% chance magic casted on him will fail and then repelled back to the caster

I caught Iron Man 1 and 2 on some random stream recently and realized that it's all always been completely retarded.

I mean, Thanos 50%ing the universe and then considering the job well done and retiring when... well...
we have 8 billion people now and we had 2 and half billion people in 1950... half of 8 billion is 4 billion and we had that in 1975. So his absolutely godly plan was to set back the universe's population... fifty years? And that's it? That shit doesn't make sense.

In Iron Man 1 and 2 they fucking beat the shit out of each other, Tony Stark walks out of a cave and gets blasted by like 50 machineguns and somehow none of the fire gets into his huge eye or mouth holes and splatter his brain? Somehow he doesn't get a concussion and fucking dies instantly after ramming the sand in his metal suit face-first at terminal velocity?
And in the subsequent films they beat the shit out of henchment, """""""nonlethally""""""" slamming their heads into concrete hard enough it leaves holes and shit

and dr. strange somehow saw only one future out of millions where they win but that shit does not make sense either because there's like 50 opportunities to fucking instantly end him during the endgame movies after this happens

idk

I didn't watch endgame but one of those infinity stones was the time stone, Thanos could probably counteract time stops. Actually wait wasn't the thing he used to control time the time stone on the inside. What's he gonna stop time with

After Big T got the reality stone it's game over. You can't fucking beat that. They could pull a Twilight fake out were the good guys beat Thanos but it was just a illusion. I'm glad they didn't do that.

The point was to get the world to reflect on the way it manages resources, which is exactly what happened and is explained further in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

I didn't see those and I believe you, but without watching I doubt they have done that idea justice because it's just incredibly retarded regardless, it's got like 20 legitimate angles you can attack it from

however, my point, supported by this as a data point, was more that it's just a symptom of the fact that literally anything at all can happen in these movies
there are no stakes, none of it makes sense, and they can write anything to happen at any time

which is fine, I'll still watch it, but you gotta approach it like a fairy tale for children or something

You don't have a fucking point. We're talking about movies where a norse god visits a giant dwarf in space to make an axe from star beams

they wished back people who someone used the soul stone to wipe out, but this doesn't work on someone who was killed from using the soul stone, because they paid a price directly to the stone, it basically took pity on tony and granted him his wish in exchange for his weak little form and life, it's kind of like how you can't use the stones to bring back gamora and scarlet johansson

it doesn't wrok like that, why? i dunno bad writing but if i had to guess it's because Tony's soul was the one that was trying to use the stones to undo thano's previous wish, tony's body was to weak to use the stones but his will was strong like thanos so the stones compromised and granted him his wish at the cost of his soul and life, their is a deleted scene where tony ends up in the same place as kid gamora and black widow

my point makes plenty of sense, the stone wanted his soul in exchange for letting him wipe out the entire army and thanos, and you cant use the stones to revive someone who gets sent to the soul gazebo realm

No, Strange could just drop him onto the surface of Mars and let him suffocate or something and Wanda would easily drive him mad with his own insecurities. And then you need to remember that we know Galactus, Dormammu, and the celestials all exist in the MCU. I refuse to believe that Bob would be able to kill any of them solo.
