Threads is good at first but becomes speculative fear porn halfway through when it envisions a nuclear winter scenario when we know now that any effects like that would dissipate in the relative short term
I'm convinced that Carl Sagan deliberately exaggerated the projections of nuclear winter in the 70s in order to scare governments into peace talks, and no one can admit it now because it's like Ozymandias in Watchman keeping up a lie
The Day After is a way better movie because it focuses entirely on the lead up and immediate aftermath
