They're being trained to treat any opposing opinion with derision, which not only removes the need for critical thinking, but cements both parties' positions and resentment for the other. What side they take isn't as important, so long as they're at somebody's throat. As for who's responsible, it would be easy to say it's one party, and it would be even easier to say it's everyone who disagrees with me. I don't think we've earned screaming death just yet because hell, we're just acting according to our nature. It's too easy to fall for ragebait if you're not perpetually vigilant, and at least occasionally skeptical of your own beliefs.
