>>211746822"Day for night" blue light/blue filter technique has been used for over a hundred years. Even in black and white films they lit the sets with blue light to simulate night scenes. The Purkinje effect was used in photography as well where a blue tint suggested a night time scene back when early cameras would be useless in low light conditions.
If you look at the night scenes in something like the 10 commandments it is all blue backgrounds, and then characters are lit by orange "torchlight" in the foreground. Luke training the dark swamp in empire strikes back was all blue, as were the night scenes in raiders of the lost ark (again with orange light from torches of glowing gold objects). The digital blue filters came later but it always represented moonlight.
