I'm from Argentina. you can be from Chile and not know what non-chilean movies are. Each country hate the next one so they dont consume media (except for Uruguay and Argentina)
why is this important? Why do you care that no one in US knows about shitty movies in a different language that are often low budget low quality dramas?

but all latin american countries are incredibly similar - same language (minus brazil which is very close to spanish), catholic, nearly identical history, ethnic mixes, etc.

i live in Chile and you get a couple of award winning movies from the bigger south american markets like Brazil or Argentina.
