Return of the Jedi is a terrible movie saved by the throne room scene.
Search your feelings. You know it to be true.
It's a good movie, but the crew definitely needed a longer break after finishing Empire. You can tell they were exhausted.
>>211763548 (OP)i would widen it to the death star scenes in general
>>211763958yeah the writer definitely needed a break
>>211763548 (OP)AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>211763958>but the crew definitely needed a longer break after finishing Empire. You can tell they were exhausted.Crews don't get exhausted, they finish one job and move onto the next. The issue was Richard Marquand, many of the cast including Carrie Fisher and David Prowse said that Marquand would all but ignore the rest of the cast and focus all his attention on Harrison Ford.
The OT overall is a mishmash of Western pulp adventure and Eastern spiritual mumbo-jumbo. RotJ just happens to be 100 minutes of pulp followed by 35 minutes of pseudo-Buddhism. It appeals to different folks, though I suspect more people cling to the deeper spiritual themes than those who like the dime novel-tier antics like breaking into a gangster's den to rescue your kidnapped friend, or getting captured by man-eating savages and have to trick them to get your way out.
If itโs so terrible why is it my favourite Star Wars movie ?
>>211763548 (OP)Great 1st and 3rd acts. Everything on Endor sucks.
