When I was watching In the Lost Lands I kept thinking about how Paul used to use practical costumes for his monsters, right up until The Final Chapter for the waterlogged creature that appears for like 10 seconds. (But the Bloodshot was CG.) Now he's on the terrible CG train.

Claire belongs to Alice. All the female characters belong to Alice. That's why Claire shoots her traitorous boyfriend Doc in the face. He had the temerity to infringe upon Alice's territory. (You ever notice that Claire is weirdly sheepish about telling Alice she has a boyfriend?)

You have to admit one thing, if you were married to a woman as hot as Milla, you would make her the main action star of every movie you made as well.

I love Milla as an actress, but I do think Paul should be a bit more thoughtful about who he casts her as. For example, she didn't need to be the lead actress in Monster Hunter. He could have included her as someone else the way he did in Three Musketeers. I hope that he doesn't wind up casting his daughter as lead in The House of the Dead regardless of whether she fits the role.

So fucking cool. Remember that Resident Evil fans walked out of the theatre seething at this, despite the wall running thing being a fairly obvious homage to Wesker doing it in Code Veronica.

I actually got kicked out of the theater 2/3 through this kino because we snuck in because we didn't have a ID for a R movie. I still got to see the Alice's tits though.

While RE TFC is one giant, lampshaded retcon, Alice being some kind of clone was something Paul planned from early on.

Nah, too much slowdown. If you compare it to his best cinematography and direction in Mortal Kombat, this falls woefully short.

>Nah, too much slowdown.
It was edited by Niven Howie, who basically pioneered speed ramping, and worked with both Guy Ritchie and Zack Snyder. What is odd is that the script specifically says the sequence was to be shot as a single take. Obviously they couldn't get that working.
