That's pretty inconvenient, to be fair. But yeah, I once had an idea for a trilogy of RTSs about a bunch of pirates who take more or less the same deal of immortality in return for not being able to set foot on land, and the sequels are set in modern and then futuristic times where technology is increasingly making the no-land rule irrelevant and letting them take the piss
