>>211795410>because you didn't care about the charactersi cared a lot about his friend Neil, the character seemed genuinely nice
>The MC was horribleMC was absolute garbage
>You didn't know what was going onwhich is precisely what kept me engaged
>Stuff was happening but you don't know why the characters were doing what they were doingi did when i managed to understand the time inversion thing, especially towards the end of the movie (after the 4th rewatch)
>>211795338final battle was against the villain's henchmen who were doing the bidding of the future to procure/activate the algorithm
it could've been directed better overall i agree, but the thing is the whole concept of time inversion quickly makes things impossible to understand
shit wasn't clear because as the red team (forward) entered the battlefield the blue team (inverted) was leaving, but in forward time it looked like they were also entering in moonwalk
you probably missed the fact that Neil who was supposed to be on the blue team (inverted) switched teams mid-battle to warn MC about the trapped tunnel, and he's actually the one driving the humvee we see at some point without understanding, and he gets locked out because of the trapped tunnel collapsing yet he still manages to pull them out and save them
ironic thing is that because he uninverted to be able to save MC from the trap, he didn't go back with team blue to brief team red about what happens, which means that team red is oblivious to the trapped tunnel, which means that blue Neil needs to uninvert to warn them... so causality gets kinda whacky
the same attention to detail was given to the airport scene where you can actually see inverted Neil and MC taking the chick to the time inverter
