Yeah, it's weird that most channels don't do any weird cropping or editing scenes anymore and mostly just use blur. I've even seen it done on syndicated episodes of Key & Peele.

I found out in here Svengoolie used to show more modern horror movies like House of Svengoolie is doing. Did MeTV make him only show really old movies? I also saw a clip of the original Svengoolie interviewing a Penthouse pet.

Something similar, I remember watching Starship Troopers Rifftrax Live when it was in the theater.
They cut away from the movie and had a guy in a gorilla costume with balloons when the shower scene came up. Don't think they censored the violence though even when it was a show with kids.

I would guess with popularity, companies with movie rights are asking more to license recent movies. It happened with MST3K when they were re-releasing of DVDs and Blu-Rays. Most were old and very bad.movies, but they knew they were popular.
