I watched this recently having seen it years ago and reading a lot of Mark Fisher's cultural writings imagining it to be peak comfy but it was underwhelming. The motivations of the authoritarian state were cartoonish, a lot of gratuitous "I'm gonna mean to immigrants just because" segments. Some solid cinematography such as the well known tracking shot, elements of shock and tension like the ambush and farmhouse escape don't necessarily redeem the shallow premise as much as I hoped.
