>be workaholic dad
>die in car crash, classic
>wake up as a puppy
>wtf.jpg
>grow up as stray dog, life is rough
>get adopted, abused, escape, survive winter
>start remembering past life
>realize was actually a human with a family
>find wife and kid, they’ve moved on
>wife dating your former coworker
>turns out you were kind of a jerk as a human
>try to reconnect with son as a dog
>son starts to like you, but can’t tell him you’re his dead dad
>cause chaos, nearly kill coworker out of jealousy
>learn he wasn’t even responsible for your death
>feel like absolute trash
>finally let go, leave your family behind
>accept that you're just a dog now
>wander off into the sad unknown
>mfw reincarnated to suffer and repent
Siskel and Ebert always bitched when a kids movie was too dark or whatever but they loved this. Evil

This and Plague Dogs was just depression porn. As a kid I fucking hated both of them just for how utterly bleak they both were

Paulie was a way better movie
It had its bleak hard hitting moments but the film overall had a upbeat vibe. The ending was so wholesome too
