Yet it looks like it was filmed 90% in front of greenscreen with pajeet CGI, and then color graded to hell and back. Just because you shoot on film doesn't make it automatically better or more cinematic. It helps, sure, but you need other aspects to work to make it look good.

Every movie these days, whether shot on film or digital, is digitized and edited digitally and goes through digital post that includes color grading (what do you think HDR is?) before it’s delivered … a final master … that is in digital. Theaters aren’t running a film print through sprocket projectors, dumbfuck. In fact, if the director and cinematographer wanted a film look and the master comes out looking too clean, they might add grain or tweak a film stock LUT to make it look “more film” (because, frankly, audiences today don’t even know what a real (shot, edited, projected) analogue film looks like .. they only. have an “idea” of what it looks like. The only directors that serious about “film” are autists like Tarantino that went 70mm Pana for Hateful 8 and then outfitted theaters to show the (transferred) analogue film. You’re not even going to find a proper film projection setup outside of major cities.
