When I got my Jedi in SWG I went on a hunt for crystal colors and I settled on almost a shit brown color. I liked it. I used Dookus curved hilt.

If I were in charge of a main sequence SW movie, I would include a scene where it's made clear that the only colors are red, green, and blue. Purple, white, yellow were just tales that arose out of the chaos of the fallen republic. There are even more ancient rumors of a black blade, but is not likely given how lightsabers work.
I would then give myself a cameo where I flip off all of you, the audience. Then you can come back here and cry about how mean the big movie studio is to fans.
