I liked McGregor in it quite a bit. His speech at the AA meeting and his scene with ghost Jack were both really good, reminds you that he is a great actor when he has decent material. I liked the idea of a pack of ageless energy vampires. I liked the scene where the old vampire dies and Rose talks about him being alive since Roman times but I'm a sucker for shit like that.

Rebecca Ferguson was about as hot as she's ever been in a movie and it was a pretty good performance too, she definitely sold being an evil/selfish piece of shit well.

The main girl and all the scenes she's in are kinda weak. She's the worst actress in the movie unfortunately. The scene in the woods was indeed comical.

All in all we're lucky it was as decent as it is, I expected it to be a complete dumpster fire considering the first movie was a one and done type movie.

The ending was predictable as fuck. The best part of the whole film was the brutal killing of the kid. If the movie was more of that kind of shit throughout it would have been a genuinely disturbing film. Instead most of the ghost shit is played as just annoying or even comical. Also the hotel at the end felt nothing like the original, it could have been an entirely unaffiliated work and nobody might have noticed
