Are you guys ready for Jewish horror peak? I know this guy's movies. Its going to be disturbing. Some shots are going to stick in my mind for a long time. Just looking at the cast you know it's going to be something special, because we don't get really get films anymore by people who like making films. Its not a sequel or some huge IP or some pretentious A24 drama. Its the kind of movie A24 should be distributing like Uncut Gems. Movies with familiar faces that you know the big studios would never greenlight.

I read the script a couple weeks ago (both this and Zach Cregger's Weapons got posted) and I wasn't really sure what to make of it. Weapons is going to be A LOT more commercial and mainstream than this. The weird thing is Eddington is 150 pages (150 minutes) but shit doesn't actually start ramping up until about 80 pages in. The ending would also be extremely divisive, I think it will piss a lot of viewers off. I'll still go see it at the cinema purely because I liked Beau is Afraid so much.

I watched Beau twice to make sure I wasn't filtered, and it was even more egregiously shit the second time. Just an extremely pompous and pretentious foray into filmmaking with very little to offer up or say at all beyond a few well executed sequences. Even worse is listening to Aster himself talk about the film, it's pretty much impossible to retain even a modicum of respect for him as soon as he opens his mouth. Just a totally, totally damaged individual with nothing of merit to offer up to the world, yet holds himself in the highest esteem blind to his own coping mechanisms. Beau is Afraid might just be one of the worst movies I've ever seen, so much so I probably will never check out another of Aster's holier than thou attempts at film again. So no, OP, I shan't be watching the shit that you are shilling relentlessly.

You didn't get filtered. Its basically 3 movies in 1 and only the first part from the city to the that family house was kino. The middle forest and animation shit were the weakest part and the finale at the wake was kino, but again, you gotta sit through like 2 hours to get to that. But there is still a lot in that movie that is absolute kino and it feels like the producers kept Ari Aster from doing too much this round. Cus same thing happened with Midsommar. Good cocnept and ideas but too indulgent with almost no pay off.
