I recently rewatched this and it is fucking jarring how fast Anikan turns on the Jedi and Obi Wan. It’s almost comedic.

The only way to watch is with the supplemental material that came out a decade after that somewhat explains why he would turn. Then again, that material was made to explain the plot holes and other mistakes from the prequels.

No he brought balance to the Force just like he was born to do. He really had no choice; he had to kill those children. Anakin was created by the Force to do a job and he did it.

The fact that notorious hothead Anakin Skywalker full of Dark Side energy didn't attack Palpatine right there is just bad writing

I still think his acting was very good, im how he delivered his inner turmoil, it's just wasted by the directing. But every scene that he's in, he delivers a stellar performance, it's just buried in shit.
