It's pretty good, the girl was the perfect Wes Anderson stonefaced heroine that is hot every single time, nub outfit was a bonus.

It's good, a bit repetitive and the ending is kinda rushed but nothing critical.

Cera was my favourite character. Wes Anderson weakest film. It kind of runs out of steam toward the end and loses its meaning and what it’s trying to say. It just gets very messy.

Rewatched isle of dogs and Mr fox later and those stop motion animations are the perfect vehicle for his themes and characters.

It's a typical Scrooge story about a man discovering faith and family values, it's shockingly conservative. Uncle Nubar is like a more evil version of Korda who didn't have a chance for redemption being too far gone.

I honestly enjoyed Asteroid City more than this. Like at least in AC there was the whole ending bit about the theater play, that was new.

The ending is where it's thematically the tightest because the whole film is a retelling of the Jacob and Esau story

If you're still watching Wes Anderson films I think less of you. Just lazy and cloying but autistic.

I hated asteroid city because the whole concept of the titular "asteroid city" being an in-universe stage play rendered the whole movie pointless to me. The movie explicitly tells me that 80% of what I'm watching is not real and so why should I care about the character interactions

I recently watched it and felt almost nothing, indeed I was not sure if everything I was watching was already fake, what was any of it meant to be? To what sort of buildup? And they were all too dry in their delivery, too similar to one another.

I really wish he would do another stop motion film. Something about that process seems to save him from his worst tendencies.

Wes should ditch Hanks and Johansson, they’re weak links and pull me right out of his movies.

The father-daughter dynamic felt genuine and I think that carried the movie and made it very enjoyable to watch

The first half or so was engaging and a bit more quirky than the usual Wes Anderson stuff. Looked like he was experimenting with his style a bit more than usual.

But then I just lost interest later on since nothing much was done with the premise.
