People have dedicated years of thought into pre-emptively hating this casting.
For at least 15 years there have been constant threads about black Hermione. Any time a young black actress with an afro was cast in anything, even a minor stage show in London, there would be a picture of that little black girl with "AYO HARRY IT'S LEVIOSAAA" spammed for a week. Any time a fat ugly black lady was in a commercial, there would soon after be that image with greentext saying "AYO HARRY WE FINNA FISS DAT".
4channelers were way too dedicated to the idea of an ugly afro'd black Hermione, and as 4channelers they absolutely refuse to LET THINGS GO.
But we got an actress for Hermione that looks like she could be Emma Watson's daughter or neice, an actress maybe 4-8% darker than Emma Watson. But still get threads saying "AYO POTTER WE FINNA DRANK SOME KOOL AID" and 4channelers whining about blackwashing. Reality doesn't matter, complaining is more fun.
