Serious question, what kind of hole did Cavill dig himself in to piss off WB so much while Momoa, Gal, and even Ezra seemed to roll just fine.

He actually liked the source material and wanted to deliver a good product. Nothing pisses off producers more than that.

Momoa, Gal and Ezra just nodded whenever the producer told them to do something. Cavill would cock his head and say "Are you sure? That doesn't seem like something Superman would do..." because he actually engrosses himself in the source material whenever he plays a character. Its the same reason he bailed on the Witcher. They producers on that had no fucking idea what they were talking about. Meanwhile his nerd ass had read every book cover to back 3 times and could cite specific pages that applied to a scene they were doing

Aparently he went gran autismo with the lore when he was in the Witcher series (which pissed off a lot of execs and script writers), so I wouldn't be surprised.

I haven't read/played/watched any of the witcher stuff, but it makes me pretty happy knowing that there is at least one person in hollywood who actually gives a shit about respecting established lore. His involvement is why I am cautiously optimistic about the 40k stuff.

>Serious question, what kind of hole did Cavill dig himself in to piss off WB so much while Momoa, Gal, and even Ezra seemed to roll just fine.

Momoa and Gal's movies did very well, while Man of Steel didn't. It's that simple. Ezra didn't have his flop yet so he was still on good terms until he wasn't, that was just a matter of time.

Also he's kind of a shit actor. Which isn't unique here but again, Momoa and Gal's first movies did well.

Cavill is a nice guy who likes Superman. He’s old school committed, profesional and doesn’t fit with the degenerate/effeminate/white-loathing scumbag activist Hollywood type. Mamoa is the clown sex toy of old hag producers, Godot is a talentless but astroturfed Jew model and Miller is precisely the Hollywood type I just mentioned: An absolute piece of filth degenerate Marxist parasite Jew who despises natural order. So he’s not only loved but protected by these rats no matter what he does.

it's pretty consistent with everything else though. They wanted to dump Cavill which is why he got nothing after JL, but then The Rock, in his effort to change the hierarchy of the DC universe, wanted to set up a Cavill Superman vs Black Adam showdown so he went over the heads of DC Studios to WB and convinced them to bring Cavill back and cameo in Black Adam, but that movie flopped and leadership changed so they did away with it.

>>211902557 (OP)
It’s a combination of factors. Basically WB didn’t want Cavill who was associated with Snydershit but they were bound to his contract (one more appearance) which Cavill was holding out for a fully fledged movie, so WB avoided the character like the plague. Cavill fulfilled his contract by appearing in Black Adam which the rock and his ex-wife(Cavill’s manager) convinced him that was the future and everything would be alright. Abdy and De Luca assured him too. A month later Gunn fires Cavill and here we are now.

Allegedly Tobey Emmerich really really hated Cavill and wanted Gunn to direct Superman back in 2018/2019, outright rejecting Christopher McQuarrie’s proposal because “if Gunn won’t do it nobody can.”

What you said about Ezra is factually and observably untrue outside of the Jew part. He literally backed out of Hollywood willingly over frustration with constant sexual assault by freemasonic producers, and to avoid tabloids and stalkers. You retards come out of the woodwork every thread with these dumbfoundingly hyperbolic observations that are founded on pure delusion and stupidity. Tabloids

He more or less has said it without dogging on Snyder too much. It's also pretty obviously true given that Cavill is the one that chose to use the more colorful suit with the hair curl in his Black Adam cameo vs the all black edgy Snyderverse one.

He chose the Man of Steel suit out of nostalgia. There is no actual black suit, that was done in post. The JL suit is red and blue like the other. Finally the black suit isn’t even edgy you dimwit, it’s the comic accurate resurrection suit. If the color black automatically = edgy your brain is fried.

Ezra was allowed to write his own script and chase one of the potential directors away in 2019 because he didn't find that script edgy enough. Flash movie probably could have come out years earlier had they not started over that last time.
Then he heemed that fatchick in 2020 and WB still didn't recast him even though the movie didn't start filming until 2021 lol

Except in the comic he wears it because he's weakened and is using it as a solar panel to recharge. In the movie he's just wearing it because Snyder thought black looked cool. So yeah, edgy.

> it’s the comic accurate resurrection suit.
No it isn't. If he wanted to make it comic accurate he would've removed the cape and given him a mullet. We all know Snyder just chose it because he likes black.

The Flash’s development woes hinged less on Ezra and more WB wanting to use it as a universe resetter which a lot of directors (who Ezra himself valued) weren’t interested in. Andy Muschietti was a compromise and his movie predictably came out bland. Ideally The Flash should’ve been a Flashpoint Paradox adaptation which is basically a JL movie with Flash as the main character capitalizing on a Jeffrey D.M. Batman.

honestly I'm not even sure there was any ideal Flashpoint movie so early. The entire appeal of seeing these characters as alternate versions is lost when we barely know them to begin with. Plus Snyder's Batman was already a grizzled edgelord killer who we saw using guns so as cool as JDM as Thomas Wayne would be that effect would also be lost as there's no contrast to the mainline Batman.

This revisionist history by Snyder here is hilarious. Cavill been called a charisma void and even on here. Then because he said he like Witcher and Warhammer spergs on here where “he’s me.” Cavill is a very boring actor with zero presence. Why the WB demanded after MOS fell off a cliff Batman be in the next one.

Tristan + Isolde (2006) - Melot
Stardust (2007) - Humphrey
Red Riding Hood (2006) - The Hunter (so bad its good? comically cheesy, idk i just liked him in it and liked it..but maybe was really drunk)
Blood Creek (2009) - Evan Marshall
The Tudors (2007) - Charles Brandon
Immortals (2011) - Theseus
The Man from U.N.C.L.E.(2015) - Solo
Man of Steel (2013) - Clark Kent/Kal-El (I liked him for superman but the character/story was so poorly planned/written)
Enola Holmes (2020) - Sherlock Holmes (netflix slop and clearly he was not the best for Sherlock but it still works)
The Witcher (2019) - Geralt of Rivia (best Geralt)
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare - Gus March-Phillips
Argylle (2024) - Argylle

I think these are all or most the things i remember him in and so not counting an equal number of things I didn't see or just didn't have an impact on me.
I think he's typed cast a a bit of handsome stoic character type but he has shown in multiple things that he can branch out into other forms of acting.

also: Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) - The Cavillrine (LOL)
also also: he has like 8+ things that are upcoming including; Highland, Voltron.

so i just like the guy and hopes he can keep acting.

now i go back to drinking and streaming really dumb shows like The Rookie: FEDS cause i haven't seen it and don't want to

nah they cast Cavill since he looked like Superman and was huge and they knew they wanted to make it a big action slopfest to differentiate it from the Returns version, not because he looked specifically like Reeve. Cavill actually tried out for Superman Returns and lost it to Routh because Routh looked more like Reeve.

Routh is a bit more charming than Cavill though and probably a better actor overall.

>while Momoa, Gal, and even Ezra seemed to roll just fine

>e went gran autismo with the lore when he was in the Witcher series (which pissed off a lot of execs and script writers)
AKA he pointed out there were actual saboteurs on set who were dressing up people in dick costumes. Unsurprisingly the only other person to care about the source material also hate everyone else who was on the show.
If you actually bothered to read what they were saying it was all baseless womanly seething over him refusing to do nude scenes.

Doesn't change that Snyder was merely changing the colors of already shot scenes with VFX work done on them. It is easier to just change colors, blue to black, red to silver, than it is to do everything else.

Cavill doesn’t have chemistry with any female. If you can’t have chemistry with Amy Adams, you’re hopeless. She’s the only Christian Bale ever had chemistry with. Nolan blew it not casting her as Rachel instead of Katie Homes. Bale had such good chemistry with her she read lines with him for Begins

It’s vital. It’s mocked Margo Kidder being Lois but once you look at auditions of all actresses that tried out she had the best chemistry with Reeve. Wolverine wasn’t suppose to cuck Cyclops in the X Men movie but Jackman and Janssen hit off so much even raging homo Singer couldn’t ignore it

Cavill is much better than Momoa. Momoa ruins everything he is in and has no range

Cavill doing a video with Linus or Jay would have been good.

they both have no range but momoa seems like he's having more fun and isn't as wooden so I prefer him. as long as he's cast right.

The mustache scandal really pissed them off (even though it was Paramount that refused to let him shave it).
