Back when I was in school, you couldn't just order cheap shit from China, so I used to design and solder electronic gadgets myself and check out books to figure how to do that. So I would go up to the 2nd floor, section W (technology), subsection F (electronics), subsubsection N (high frequency/radio), and then the books had numbers in the order they were acquired by the library: "WFN 328" for example. That way you could also find books from the general area you were interested in, but whose authors of titles you didn't know, so you couldn't just look them up in the catalog.
