Because Top Gun movies are about dogfighting, close in air action. Not about being tens of thousands of feet up and dropping bombs on a target you can't even see from the cockpit

Real answer: the strategies Israel pulled off this past couple years have been outrageous, wildly successful, and would be completely unbelievable in a movie. They'd have been laughed out of the theater and mocked forever more as the most idiotic things thought of. Distrubuting pagers to thousands of terrorists to wipe out their entire chain of command in a single day? Get real! Smuggling in hundreds of drones, missiles, spies, and assassins into Iran to destroy SAM sites, kill scientists, and decapitate the military and government? Hahaha yeah right. The enemy in Top Gun 2 was immune to such silly attacks so they still had a functional and very deadly anti-air system along with Russian supplied 6th Gen fighters. These would have found and smoked any subsonic B2 bombers. The air strike only worked by the F18s flying extremely low level and supersonic, and they also didn't expect many to return.
