Tolkien makes distinctions between men (male) and Men (race) throughout his books. Glorfindel predicts that the Witch King won't die to a man (male).
Eowyns barrow dagger was what killed the witch king of angmar, but the prophecy was 100% that a woman would do it.
I know this website is full of 16 year olds, Indians and unironic incels but the reality is that Eowyns was completely right and it wasn't just some spur of the moment one liner.

He had Merry killing the witch king instead since Merry wasn't a human. The translator in question was a controversial figure who had a beef with Tolkien himself later in his career. He took many weird liberties but this is the only one that actually made sense and improved the book.
