Fucking WHY
The bolito scene is the only part worthwhile.
overwritten silly parable
>>211915196 (OP)>ugly plastic whore defeats every capable man and wins the entire movieMisandrist simp garbage. McCarthy really fell off.
>>211916762>overwrittenCormac tried to bring a little class to cinema and plebs call the film overwritten, ensuring we never get poetry like this again.
>The heart of any culture is to be found in the nature of the hero. Who is that man who is revered? In a Classical world, it is the warrior, but in the Western world, it is the man of God. From Moses to Christ. The Prophet, the Penitent. Such a figure was unknown to the Greeks. Unheard of. Unimaginable. Because there is only a man of God, not a man of gods. And this God is the God of the Jewish people. There is no other god. We see him, what is the word... purloined. Purloined in the West. How do you steal a God? The Jew beholds his tormentor dressed in the vestments of his own ancient culture. Everything bares a strange familiarity, but the fit is always poor, and the hands are always dripping blood. "That coat. Didn't that belong to Uncle Chaim? What about the shoes?"
THIS is how you fuck a car.
>>211916876Right, right. So why did the men all turn out pathetic and worthless while the woman was an invincible genius?
>beautiful dialogue
Fucking awful. Proof that an author does not a screenwriter make.
>>211917154>Proof that an author does not a screenwriter make. The weird part though is that the No Country For Old Men novel is almost written like a movie script where its just lots of spoken dialogue. Like the movie has a ton of lines that are just word for word from the book
>>211916907She said herself that she's like one of her cheetahs. She lives for the hunt, while the others are in it for money.
God you fucking faggots are really gonna make me ban evade to tell you why this flick is such a piece of shit? Fuck you.
>gorgeous cinematography
Probably the best example of sterile, soulless filmmaking in recent memory. I don't know anyone who epitomizes the soulless, over colour corrected, glitzy and over polished look like modern Ridley Scott.
>beautiful dialogue
I love Cormac McCarthy but this shit is so overwrought.
>flawless acting
Cameron Diaz doing her evil girlboss shit made me want to blow my brains out. Just such a displeashre to watch every one of her scenes.
Truly this flick seems like it would be great based on who's involved but it's a chore, a slog, a failure on all levels from everyone involved.
>>211917228It started as a screenplay. No one bought it, so Cormac adapted it into a novel. Ironic.
>>211916876Something like Force of Evil 1948 is a good parable with "classy" blank verse writing. The Counselor is a shart from a sharty writer.
It was boring forgettable shit. I love McCarthy stuff like The Road, All The Pretty Horses and Blood Meridian are awesome but this was so slow and plodding
>inb4 get some taste
If you want to know how to do a film about characters just talking watch Locke with Tom Hardy. Pure kino
>>211916876>Such a figure was unknown to the Greeks. Unheard of. Unimaginable. Because there is only a man of God, not a man of gods. And this God is the God of the Jewish people. There is no other god. Jew-lovers like McCarthy truly are psychotic and historically-illiterate.
