he is 27 and healthy, cherish the things that you still have. also, having failed YOUR expectations, he is not a failure in general. it is pretty normal for western men to fail education and having no incentive to start working minimum wage when he can get food and shelter for free. anything else would be stupid. what do you expect your son to do, kill himself? either YOU provide a job for him, like many parents do, or you have no right to complain.

I have a daughter on the way and I've been trying to figure out the ideal amount of computer time and pop culture to allow. You know, so she's not a social outcast but doesn't become a shut-in or thot either.

I've decided there should be a desktop PC with a keylogger etc in the living room since it's important to learn about file systems and basic office software. iPads are definitely out. Flip phone for most of her childhood but she can get a smartphone(that I will also monitor) with her own money once she's working.
