I'm pretty sure most of these movies couldn't be made today for a variety of reasons.

I'm trying to round out a top 10 list, but this is all I can think of off top. I know there's movies I'm forgetting.

I watched this again last week on uhd (lol). This movie is so nuts and I'm surprised it isn't more talked about. DMX being recruited by the cia/fbi/whoever to effectively assassinate MLK and NAS moving to 'Africa' has to be one of the wildest endings to a movie. Whole opening section is also pure kino.

Judas and the black messiah was a decent relatively recent black movie. Lakieth Stanfield carried it. He's arguably the best, relatively young, black actor out at the moment.
