smoothbrain take. 10 Cloverfield Lane is a masterclass thriller designed around getting the audience comfortable with a status quo before doing a rugpull and making them completely uncomfortable. The end is the last rugpull after spending the whole movie convincing you the initial premise was a lie it turns out to be true and there is no comfort to be found.

The fact the world is fucked is already established beyond doubt by the scene with the stranger woman trying to get in.
Showing the ayyys at the end was a good idea, but the execution was poor. She could have sneaked out of the farm and taken the same ride at the end without the goofy sequence of the alien spaceship taken down by a molotov cocktail.
