I was watching a nature documentary about insects, and I realized that I could have been born an ant but I was born a human. So no matter how much a loser I am, I am still lucky to be born as the best species on earth. this makes me feel good and gives me less anxiety about life

You couldn't have been born an ant because ants aren't conscious. They're more like biological machines. They're "alive" in the same way a tree is "alive".

Yeah, I sometimes go into existential panic about how I had just as good of a chance of being born as some weird dragonfly 30 million years ago as I did being born as a rural American in the modern age.
I really hope reincarnation isn’t real. Honestly I can’t think of anything more terrifying than the concept of existential/cosmic Russian Roulette.
