Dune Messiah makes zero sense with seething Zendaya Chani instead of book ride or die loyal to Paul Chani. I have no idea why Villenueve felt the need to destroy Chani's character so hard. It adds nothing to the story.

the movies only lightly touched on the ecology themes of the book in general, which was a big part of Liet's role in the story and really reinforced just how intimately tied the Fremen way of life was to the desert. its kinda crazy how rushed the movies feel even with a combined five hour run time.

Her being a rebel doesn't make any sense. It exposes Bene Gesserit plan (in fact it should make it null), it undermines Paul and is contradictory with how the story it develops.
The film itself also doesn't make any sense, Paul is guided by revenge, namely his kid dying. In the film there's no real reason why an holy war needs to start, nor it's even contextualized why is the Guild and the Houses so worried about Paul's plan.

I seriously don't believe Dennis ever read the book.
