I won't pay for any Pixar tickets.

OK, I'm very cautious in saying this at this point in time for very obvious reasons, but I will admit: At least based on what is described on paper here...this MIGHT actually have some potential...
>The characters are non-Humans rather than ugly, brown DEI-mandated mutt-children with bean-mouths
>Though the very well may be animals that can talk as per usual in animated movies, non-Human characters at least hopefully means that the project may emphasize visual & non-verbal communication, similar to Wall-E (this is a best case scenario though)
>A small cast of primarily non-Human characters leaves very little wiggle-room for any idiots in the writing room to jam in any brief but intrusive IdPol shit (there won't be an attempted sub-plot about transexual children and their right to participate in sports or use whichever bathroom when your cast is composed of Stray Cats on the streets of Venice)
>"Blends 2D hand paint textures with CG animation" like some of their more visually-appealing (and consequently more successful) previous Short Films

Again, with an air of admittedly "highly cautious optimism", I will say that the information about this project so far sounds like it MIGHT indicate an attempted Return To Form for Pixar and their priority being on Art & Universally-Relatable Storytelling rather than DEI ESG Quotas and Millennial Writers using the script as therapy for their highly specific, unrelatable ethnic & socio-economic upbringing.

That's the thing, Anon: They didn't used to.
As a company, they were already proven capable of making kino rather than propaganda. If they can drift away from that purpose, they can also drift back towards it instead.

But they can't. I don't understand why it's so hard to comprehend, these studios are funded to produce the shit you hate, their entire existence is about putting turds out. It's like having a dad who beats your ass every day after coming back from work, but sometimes you get "cautiously optimistic", because he sounds happy on the phone while on the way back home. You will never get a good Pixar movie in your life again, because the agenda will never be about making good art again. It's time to let go.

Man I hope Humans have a minimal to borderline non-existent presence in this movie.

Truth-Bomb: The plot in Wall-E, as well as the overall cinematic experience it provides, takes a complete nosedive the immediate second the dopey, infantile "Baby's First Le Satire of Le Consumerism in Modern Society"-Humans appear on-screen and become a part of the actual plot. The portion where it was cute robots interacting with other cute robots and communicating almost exclusively through visual means with a scant handful of key-words spoken here & there was where the kino was.

They WERE funded FOR A TIME to produce the shit we hate, and that funding is rapidly dwindling/no longer becoming economically advantageous to pursue.

Again, if the company is flexible enough in structure that it can change for the worse so easily than it is fully capable of changing for the better as well so long as the right people with the right motives are in even just a few of the right places.

it's a nice little movie, sure. Has these weird low resolution textures, but looks beautiful due to the art direction, very similarly to Breath of the Wild. I'd say it's been a bit overhyped, but I don't regret it being my only cinema experience for the past year.

I donโ€™t know why Iโ€™m even asking, I already know the response Iโ€™ll get will be some convoluted shit and pulling conspiracies out of thin air and nothing substantiated. Enjoy being miserable your whole life and fighting with ghosts.
