bullshit aside what are some fair criticisms regarding 28 years later

Jimmy should have passed by the church to save the mum and son from the sloppy fatty. The cut was jarring anyway. Why cut away into him waking up all mysterious as to who saved him, if you just cut right back to it anyway? The location was even fitting to introduce or tease the character if you wanted to focus so hard on him in a sequel.

the whole movie just felt like setup for the sequel, like it was the first episode of a TV series. It works for a series not for a 2 hour movie, it didn't really set much up anyway other than "the Jimmy cult exists btw and that's what the next movie is about, and maybe the Dr, and maybe the dad, and maybe the bone structure, and maybe the alpha & it's baby". Really was such a boring plot, just a million unexplored ideas & the most generic mother son story you could write.

also hate the fact it wasn't even marketed as a trilogy, literally had no idea until reading reviews afterwards, should have had "Part 1" at the end of it or something. Even now knowing it's a trilogy it's hardly an exciting cliffhanger to end on, no suspense, no mystery, no drama literally nothing other than some goofy marvel fight scene.

It pretty much retcons 28 weeks later despite not claiming to do so.

In 28 weeks, Britain was basically completely depopulated. The infected starved to death after a few weeks / months of the outbreak starting and they were able to go back into England and start cleaning up all the infected bodies and allowing those that fled the country / were overseas at the time to move back to London City. There were only tens of thousands of people living in the entire Island at best at the time of 28 weeks later. When the outbreak happened you would be limited to the infected getting loose being the ones that were on the Island at the time of the repopulation, all clustered basically in London and maybe some other cities they were also repopulating at the time that aren't mentioned in the film.

So why would they need such a hardcore quarantine on the UK still, almost 30 years later, when the population of infected on the Island was so fucking tiny? Like the population of a small town possibly being infected on there over 30 years later, unless the infected were breeding like fucking rabbits the entire time and raising infected babies somehow even though they're all hyper aggressive, rage insane infected people that run around naked, I'm not sure how there would be any left alive after 28 years too, that's a long ass fucking time. Almost all the zombies would be in their 40s-50 or older if they were survivors from the 28 weeks outbreak.

We see them playing in streams, so I guess that's how they get water. They would need to always be near fresh water in order to survive since they carry no vessels to drink from or transport water. They have to "hunt" and kill deer and other animals with their bare fucking hands to eat calories to stay alive, they don't use tools at all and the UK isn't exactly a great environment for living like a hunter gatherer without tools considering it has winters. Speaking of which, how do a bunch of naked infected survive the winters?

I thought it was to tease/hint that she might have the Rage and that's why she can do that. Slowly slipping out.

Some other questions;

Why are a bunch of swedish sailors in full tactical gear with assault rifles if their boat ran around and sank? Why were they wearing that kind of gear unless they were on some kind of small open patrol boat looking for zombies? If the expectation is that if you get on the Island you can never leave, it seems pretty silly.

Obviously the rest of the world also faired fine with the infected outbreak at the end of 28 weeks unless that was retconned too. So why isn't france quarantined as well when they likely had a far bigger outbreak post the one in the UK? Why even bother still quarantining Britain instead of just having the world go in and wipe out whatever remaining infected there are? If it goes south all you did is create more infected on the Island and can just keep quarantining it. It makes no fucking sense that the world still exists beyond and they just leave this dangerous virus to run amok and mutate in the british Isles.

I could go on, I really think the 28 movies are just a very stupid premise but days and weeks were at least enjoyable. Years is just a silly premise that doesn't make any sense in the context of a post apocalyptic world.

Part of the scandal is that it was all covered up by the BBC while he was alive. It's not like metoo where there's much advantage for random people to say he was molesting kids after he's dead unless you really think so many people were that desperate for very ephemeral tabloid fame and nobody was really willing to defend him despite being innocent
