indeed, with hyperspace it's more likely most trade would be planet-to-planet and sort of structured like freight shipping is on planet earth. each transit has a cost, the goal is to effectively sort things among couriers so everything getst to its destination as fast as possible. an entire galaxy of hundreds if not thousands or tens of thousands of worlds relying on a handful of trade routes makes no sense. there would be trade EVERYWHERE.
