And yet, a lot of you deviant criminals have somehow gotten the idea it's "less serious" to steal digital media through torrenting sites. Newsflash, scum, it's actually a felony under U.S. law which can land you 5 years in prison with up to $250,000 fines.

I don't even use a VPN and get every new show and movie within minutes of release. Shit's cash.

I've been torrenting since I was 9. Must not be very serious if nobody has come after me.

You're absolutely right, my friend, you've opened my eyes. From now on, I'll gladly subscribe to services that keep churning out mediocre content, offer a crappy catalog where you have to pay extra to watch anything half-decent, all while getting bombarded with ads for shit I couldn't care less about

I've gotten the idea from my local government that absolutely does not care if I torrent, as long as I don't sell access to others (which I don't).
Actors, producers and directors are unpleasant people anyway. They occasionally produce good product, which I enjoy, but I don't mind them being paid less. If anything being poorer might just make them represent someone like me on screen more.

This is a board where we jack off to the feet of underage actresses. The law only matters if you can get caught.

Because what about the little guy? The Mom and Pops car factories? It's easy to say fuck the international megacorps but car piracy hurts small independent manufacturers.

Small car factories aren't in it for the money. They do it for the love of the craft.

And guess what? It can't be a lost sale since I was never going to buy it anyway.

Everyone not paying for your movie is a lost sale. So do the people who refuse to watch the latest slop become criminals because they aren't interested in watching shit?

I use stream sites now instead of torrents. ISP can't shut off your internet for that and don't need VPN, just adblockers.
