>On February 20, 2012, von Bargen shot himself in the temple in an apparent suicide attempt.[16] He managed to call 911, and an ambulance was dispatched to his apartment in Montgomery, Ohio.
>He suffered from diabetes and had previously had a leg amputated.[17] When calling 911, he told the operator that he was scheduled to have two of his remaining toes amputated but did not want to undergo another surgery. "I have no children and no life, and I'm tired," he said.[18]
>Von Bargen played fewer and fewer roles as his diabetes worsened. His last role was in the comedy London Betty in 2009

I didn't know Commandant Spangler died in 2015.

It happens. Everyone dies, and the price tends to be ugly. Go watch Fishtank or something to get your mind off it.

He seemed awesome when I was a little kid. He was on Airwolf and my dad showed me Hooper. Then I don't see him for years until Buffalo '66. What a tragic tale of alcoholism. So many of those in Hollywood. And everywhere else.

I used to watch a lot of episodes of Cops in the 90's and there were a few times where people who shot themselves in the head or chest would lay there chatting with the police about it while waiting for the ambulance to arrive

no, getting your body slowly amputated and surviving a suicide attempt and leaving no children behind is absolutely NOT normal and it IS horribly sad

Something like 40% of gunshot suicide attempts fail. I read about one a while back where a baseball player shot himself in the head with a 9mm after his gf left him, instantly regretted it, and just decided to go about his normal routine (cleaned up the blood stains, showered, cooked, etc) for like 2 days before finally driving himself down to the hospital because he started having migraines.

people just massively overestimate the damage bullets cause, while also massively underestimating the amount of trauma the human body can take without dying. 99% of those people who survive headshots and didn't die will never live normal again, but they didn't die

>After three divorces, chronic pain from a back injury sustained in an automobile crash in 1989, and a lifelong battle with depression, Flanders died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on February 22, 1995, in Denny, California, at the age of 60. No suicide note was found, and his remains were cremated.

>"I have no children and no life, and I'm tired,"

If you really can't have children yourself then your life isn't over. Your job is to help those who are genetically similar to you, your siblings, cousins and ethnic group and race, to have more children. A few people who do this will end up saving many of their people who are genetically similar to them and thus cause their genes to be more evolutionarily successful (which is the reason why you want to have kids) .
