The lore of the last two movies is built on Cruise's pseudo-Christian Scientology beliefs. The Entity is really supposed to be a soulless, man-made Antichrist, not some sci-fi super AI.

I don't know why they barely featured the Entity in the final movie. It's basically just background noise and let Gabriel (some literal who ret-conned as the author of all of Cruise's suffering) the main and final villain.

Re-watched both Rogue Nation and Fallout the other night, both were highly enjoyable, but from what I've read here, Final Reckoning sounds like a proper slop fest.

Besides which, wasn't there supposed to a live action stunt that could be seen from space? Whatever happened to that? I swear I heard about that in some of the marketing (at least pre-covid).

In Ghost Protocol it was him climbing Burj Khalifa, in Rogue Nation it was him hanging onto a plane as it took off and flew away, in Fallout it was him hanging onto the cargo hanging from a heli and climbing onto the heli, in Dead Reckoning it was driving off a mountain ledge with a motorcycle and parachuting, and in Final Reckoning it was hanging onto a biplane as it spinned.

They also spend a fuckload of time and money to film them, the MI7 jump took an entire month to film, with him making 4 or 5 jumps a day.
