>>212014948this. though its a fascinating movie because scene to scene, its holds your attention, I have to say that at the end of it, what did I really even watch?
a guy who is kind of lonely I guess but he also just kinda works and seems bored by his job and he tries to date but he's kinda creepy and he helps some young prostitute and he's also sort of going crazy and is getting semi political but not really but he's kind of a hero at the end and all of this gets handwaved because of lines about travis being a contradiction or something, but I feel like the film almost has too many threads
it needed to pick which of these it wanted to be
>"i need to clean up this city from blacks" film (the original script was more like this I think)>"Im going crazy so im going after palatine that is the only way ill gain notoriety">"I hate women and they confuse me so im lashing out" I dont like that it tries to be all of these and more, simultaneously. the film is not dense, its confused, and being a commentary about decaying modern society and how it effects the individual does not excuse it from being confused and bloated
