No. The overwhelming majority of women don't know how cup sizes work either and it's not at all intuitive. Bra sizing is a lot like car tires in that both the cup size and a tire's sidewall height is a proportion of another measurement.

Most men don't either. There's two measurements. One around the rib cage just below the breast. And one around the rib cage and over the breasts.

So let's say a woman has a 32 inch measurement below the breast and 34 inch around breasts. She would be a 32B. The number is the band size and the letter is the difference between the two measurements. A is 1 inch, B is 2 inches, etc.
