I think its one of the greatest films I've ever seen, and if the fucking pink room is a fucking gut punch.
That being said, I do agree with you here, but not for your dipshit reasons, but because even though Fire Walk With Me isn't conveying a lot of new information, its all discovered through the investigation of her murder, but in the movie you're seeing it from her perspective, the ghost that was hanging over the whole show, and you see what a state she was in, and how EVERYONE in the town should have seen it and protected her, but they didn't because its easier to pretend they didn't know.
And when you're seeing it through laura's perspective it makes you resent the time wasted on cherry pie and coffee because you just saw the fucking crash happen.

I saw it for the first time and I thought it was great, the weird pseudo sequel stuff didn’t really land and I was disappointed Bowie didn’t have a bigger role but it was a cool little prequel that recontextualizes things a bit. I also watched Missing Pieces which was a nice treat but I can’t image most of those scenes really fitting in the movie besides so weird cuts like getting Bobby’s and Donna’s parents back only to not show them at all in the final cut. The mythos seem a little weirder though. I was under the impression the midge was a more benevolent creature in the series since he gave clues but he disappeared Chris Isaak and worked with Bob

FWWM + Missing Pieces is as close as kino as it gets, i had never seen a tie-in movie that plays both in the future and the past, it was really an unique experience to me that i enjoyed throughly.
I have a weird relationship with Lynch, where i start hating most of his weird shit and end up loving it later, that wasn't required for FWWM or the original show. Actually i think Season 3 made going back to the original show a bit hard to me, i get kinda annoyed by the soap opera parts, but i can take it because i understand it's context.
