Just to clarify, this "reboot" being thrown around doesn't mean it's a full reboot like it starts from scratch. Bay was very adamant that when he came back on board he continued his Bayverse as he (probably correctly) argued that another reboot would be too confusing and he could attempt to straighten out the lore in his universe with a sixth movie. So from what I gathered and understand, Michael Bay is developing a new Transformers movie for Paramount, possibly as director, with a script by Jordan VanDina (Looking into him, he is known as a fast writer for 'weekend scripts' so might just be for a short draft idea rather than a full length script). If Skydance’s deal to buy Paramount goes through, they’ll inherit these projects and Paramount keeps the Transformers rights as long as a new movie is in production by 2029. As a note, the deal with Michael Bay has not been officially finalized.

i watched whichever one has Nicola Peltz in it at the weekend as it was on tv, but not on a HD channel and a lot of the CGI fight scenes looked shit when not in sharp HD. i've thought that before watching another on a laptop. there is so much metallic cgi that if the picture isn't totally crisp then is is all just smudge.
from a story perspective Optimus has said practically every movie "i'm away don't fuck things up so i have to come back" and yet he is back every time.
i've been a transformers fan since the 80s but they can make a good movie if they try.
