I hate how the ending of the anime went over the ENTIRE FUCKING POINT of the manga.

Which was that at the end Eldia got fucking obliterated by nukes, proving Eren right.

The point of the show is that war is a constant and that people will ALWAYS pick a line of division. Eldia was already starting to fracture and make new lines between themselves. If they had genocided everyone outside of Eldia they would have had civil wars and new divisions.

Thus Eren chose to try to make a world where at least the people he personally knew and cared about had peaceful lives, he recognized that in the long run he isn't actually connected to the eldians of the future, they are essentially completely disconnected from him. His own friends and people he cared about is what is important. Everything that comes after isn't important and there is no fixing them anyway.

The anime having only one small shot during the credits that showed Eldia getting nuked which most people probably glossed over or didn't consider made the entire fucking story seem like Eren was just some loser that stopped halfway a global genocide, instead of calculating a perfect timeline for his friends to have the best possible lives.

Floch was a revolutionary that embodied human weakness and nonetheless displayed superhuman courage and perseverance versus truly inhuman foes.

He's one of the most inspirational characters in the story precisely because he's a loser and weak. He still has enough strength of character to call out mega glazed armin and the others when they fuck up, and to wholeheartedly support the Eldian nationalist project once it becomes a viable avenue for support.

Floch was the last true gasp of the series.
