People often call him the black DSP, but despite being arguably a meaner person, LTG appears to be a much less dysfunctional person compared to Phil. Mind you, I am kind of a DSP scholar (unfortunately so), whereas I'm much more of a layman regarding LTG. DSP lore just seems more accessible to most compared to that of LTG.

If you are both a DSP and LTG scholar, why is he just as bad, if not worse, compared to DSP?

I mean LTG doesn’t really have a lot other objectively shitty things he’s done, he did make fun of a physically disabled guy but the guy was sort of provoking LTG as well. he does fly off the handle when he starts losing in video games and start bringing up personal shit. He lies about his age and denies being born in 1984, and tries to create the illusion of him being born in the early 90s because being an old ‘unc’ is very uncool to his mostly underaged fanbase.

I do not hate Phil. If I did, I would not occassionally check up on him, as that would be pure, self-destructive masochism on my part. However, he is rarely endearing, I am drawn to his antics more out of morbid curiosity. He is not the worst person in the world, but he is an extremely miserable and hateful person. The more you learn about him, the less you like him. However, he is not a monster. It's almost as if he is as unpleasant and unlikable as a person could possibly be, without actually being a predatory criminal. I don't really recommend it, but if you want to see pure, unbridled toxicity, there is a multiple hour video on youtube called Reclusive In Renton, which examines whether or not he has NPD. If you want to know why people hate him so much, it is very comprehensive, but it's really not a fun video to watch. You just feel drained afterwards.

The entry-level material is the early TIHYDP videos from 2013-2014, as well as videos of people trolling him in Street Fighter from the same period. That shit is genuinely funny.

Yeah with Phil, I mostly watch his old lets plays that he recorded with a handicam so that's why I mostly find him endearing. His modern streams are unwatchable and the constant guilt tripping with his viewers, I do understand why he has such a cult following of detractors.

I think LTG just appeals to different types, like more urban crowd with his streams. I've always been a wigger who's into the shit that black people love. so he ends up being more appealing to watch than DSP for me.

LTG is definitely much more appealing on a moment to moment basis. I would even go as far as to say that he is highly charismatic. Phil is downright boring as a streamer, but more fascinatingly bizarre as a person when you look at the big picture. His detractors are also far more dedicated than those of LTG, to the point where they are often highly dysfunctional themselves. There are two types of DSP detractors, the casuals and the obsessives. Usually, the casuals are way more fun to watch, as dunking on Phil is just one of the many things they do online, and they are functional members of society that actually have shit going on in real life. Guys like Slowbeef, Metokur and Gundam are in this camp. The obsessives are just that, obsessive. Phil is the focal point of their universe, and they have no concept of trimming off the fat in their videos. If Phil begs for money on stream for the millionth time, it needs to be reuploaded in full length. These are too many to count, and generally not worth watching for any significant length of time.
