Every Bond actor has ONE truly great movie. It almost always tends to be the first one they're in, too.

Connery: Dr. No
Dalton: The Living Daylights
Brosnan: Goldeneye
Craig: Casino Royale

I forget what Moore's one good movie is but I know he has it.

All they had to do was keep the same style and atmosphere as this movie. BUT THEY COULDN'T they had to go full retard with the other movies.

Ironically I actually do consider Quantum Of Solace to be Craig's second-best movie. There's some great stuff in it. It has a car chase AND a boat chase AND a plane chase. The scene at the opera is supreme kino. And Quantum's a better modern version of Spectre than the Spectre we eventually got.

Daniel Craig was just a store brand Timothy Dalton. On a related note I watched License to Kill again recently and holy shit I forgot how brutal the shark scenes were.

Quantum Of Solace had an AMAZING opening scene. But then the rest of the movie fell short for me.

I liked the Mathis side-story, and the opera scene. Otherwise I tend to agree.

I would never claim he was the best Bond. However the Moore movies are fun to watch as long as you go into it knowing it's going to be absurd.

QoS was like 3/4 of the way there to being just as good as CR. It has great stuff like the opera scene, they just butchered it in the editing room.

Yeah, and it's also the last "young and new" Craig Bond before they had to shut everything down due to the writers' strike, and we switched to "old and washed up" Bond for Skyfall and the other two movies. So I prize it for that reason. There's enough good in it for me to overlook the bad.

Most Bond movies suck because they make stakes too high - basically making the world's survival dependent on the success of his mission.
Like they're forgetting it's about Bond himself and not about what he does.
It's a male fantasy.
As a male I don't give a shit about the world (especially Indians).
I want to live like Bond - I fantasize about having fun adventures, beating other men to a pulp, shooting them in the head with my gun and fucking a different hot woman every night - that's what Bond is really about.
It's not about saving the world.

He’s a product of the Cold War, where the stakes were, indeed, apocalyptic
