You can tell that Ghibli had a lot of fun going to back to their traditional animation style with Spirited Away, since their previous movie (Yamadas) used a totally different style of animation.
>>212077844 that's not true though prime miyazaki went from kiki to porco rosso to whisper of the heart (yes it's virtually his movie) to mononoke in a decade
Spirited Away has easily the most beautiful blue sky I have ever seen in any movie. It even mogs, dare I even say it, the XP Bliss wallpaper. If there is a heaven, this is what it looks like.
>>212078737 whisper of the heart is basically a miyazaki movie. he wrote the script and made all the storyboards of it but then he passed it to kondo just because he wanted to focus on mononoke.

>>212078908 What part of the planet looks like this? Rural Japan?
>>212076096 (OP) I do not understand the spirited away hype. I remember everyone always saying amazing things about it so I went with a friend to see it in theaters this year with the ghilbi fest they do every year, and I was like... thats it? THATS what everyone creams about? Is it nostalgia like if you saw it as a kid?
