These are jewish communities and yeah their areas have low crime, communal aid (i.e. if you get into financial or medical trouble the community helps you out), an homogenous culture, etc.. People who try to interlope into their areas are often met by armed assailants and even the cops stay out for the most part.

I grew up in Brooklyn in the 90s/2000s and they were the only safe part of the city to go around in at night. That being said the people themselves are very reclusive and weird though will sell you some neat shit. I got an Israeli grenade from one that I gave to the police department for disposal years later when I moved.
