The ONE time this was truly pulled off successfully was in the second RDJ Sherlock Holmes movie. Excellent use of Schubert in that one particular scene.

To be fair, the people I know who listen to opera/classical music are definitely among the smarter people I know.
I can't count myself among them in the first category and I'm skeptical that I can in the latter.

In my experience smart people like to flex by having unpretentious taste in music. So they’ll listen to shit like The Rolling Stones or boring repetitive blues

it's fun when one of those "richfag scene" parts starts playing and I recognize it
