The director just couldn't actually stick to what he wanted or what would be a good idea, like having a Deer or Elk instead of a Polar Bear, or how the food bars were supposed to be reclaimed nutrients from the front cars' feces.

>"auu look de snow it melt, chingchongdingdong"

>planet is still effectively laid waste even with "de snow melt"

What the fuck do they plan on doing out there? drinking snow? what can they do for food? nothing. They're fucked. No amount of chink ingenuity can make food out of thin air.

BJH's Korean films are some of my all time favourites, but his English ones are just so bad i can't believe they're made by the same person.

retarded ending, think the novella ends with him taking over the train.

the forced black kid and random asian girl somehow surviving is just retarded.
they see a literal polar bear, it would instantly hunt them down for food.
she doesn't even know how to build a fire or create a shelter.
the black kid is a huge liability.

basically unhappiest ending, all humanity dies.

The train is a metaphor for capitalism, it derailing and them seeing life outside of it is meant to say you the audience can live without capitalism.

It's the last thing to happen in the movie, but that's not important right now.

>child slaves to clean the engine
>not enough food for everyone
The system was unfixable, even with a better leader.
Breaking the system was the only way.

if there are polar bears then there are other animals you could hunt and eat, obviously it's not realistic but neither is literally any other dystopian movie you could name

The polar bear made much more sense. Having a single deer or elk doesn't imply survival strongly enough, but a well-fed polar bear means there's more food out there.
