Most people don't bother fact checking and seeking new knowledge because they're put off by the physical strain that is having to take out the phone and asking google what x is. Eliminating this bridge will unironically do wonders for the human intelliegence, people will be cultured for once.

If anything it is too easy to google and find things that support your opinion based on google algorhithms deciding on what you will see first based on its profile of you. If you and i have different political views, we could google the same thing and recieve different front page results. The real problem is everyone googles and is happy with superficial answers instead of doing extensive research.
