>worth 400 million
>unemployed and retired
>literally no reason he has to hang around any of these people or become entangled in their lives
>He could give away 95% of his money and it would have zero impact on his life
>he could go off to another corner of the world and do literally anything
>instead he's bumming around Los Angeles
>he doesn't work and has no "projects"
>could be in Tahiti with whores
>everyone treats him like a bum

Larry does it to himself. He enjoys being a curmudgeon. Anything else you’d like me to explain to you?

I'm watching a show where a man is worth 400 million in-universe, but he appears to have no staff, and people are asking him to run various errands like some one's bitch. No one respects him or treats him with any kind of reverence either.

He’s retired and hangs out with his other rich retired friends. I don’t treat my accomplished friends with reverence and admiration every time I see them I treat them like my friends. A lot of the time Larry is right to be disrespected. He’s a cantankerous stubborn asshole. He can also do whatever he wants cause he’s worth so much. That’s why he acts as such.

it's true, like I was watching the episode where he puts up Lin-Manuel Miranda's cousins in his house and then people act like he's the asshole for complaining that they were ingrates who treated him like shit, threw a party and trashed the house. But when he complains everyones like "OY VEY LARRY STOP BEING A SHITTY HOST"

a lot of the spats are like that, Larry is actually the more reasonable party most of the time, especially in the later seasons

I haven't seen the entire show, but has Larry ever thought about opening a charity? Charity work and foundations and think tanks are what rich guys like Larry typically do to keep themselves busy.

He gets involved in various projects throughout the course of the show. He keeps himself busy. He’s only really semi-retired. He does a broadway show, a Seinfeld reunion, even opens a coffee shop in the later seasons.
