>can't hear a word the actors are saying because he makes them mumble over background noise and overbearing soundtrack because "that's his style"
>plots are boring and slow paced
>"muh cinematography" (spamming wide shots)
>not a single kino to date

I don't get the hype.

Just watched it and thought it was extremely mid. Probably the worst offender for incomprehensible dialogue. Some cool action sequences. Plot boring, slow paced and predictable.

This guy is a total hack. There's a reason why he latches onto any IP he can get, from Blade Runner to Dune to now 007. He'll definitely do capeshit later on too just wait and see. But normalfags love him because his movies because they're long and boring and insist on being epic inbetween all the action explosions.

I'm convinced his career is entirely propped up by Indians.

Nah, the same normalfags who prop Nolan up as the greatest director alive love Villeneuve.

He used to be a much smarter filmmaker. For instance, when he rejected Timothee Chalamet's audition for Prisoners (2013). That's the danger of homosexual directors, eventually they cave into miscasting twinks.
